Austria + Italy

Austria Tourism

Austria, officially the Republic of Austria, is a landlocked East Alpine country in the southern part of Central Europe. It is composed of nine federated states.

Innsbruck, the capital of Austria’s western state of Tyrol, is a city in the Alps. For winter sports, Innsbruck brings life to Austria tourism with its majestic mountain ranges and other sights and attractions. One of the most famous attractions here is the Golden Roof, a landmark which is in the historic old town. The golden roof is an alcove balcony that shines with the 2657 fire-gilded copper tiles that cover the roof. It has been around for more than 500 years now. However, Innsbruck is famed most for its winter wonderland status and some of the most incredible Alpine views you would see in your life.

Italy Tourism

Italy is a Home to many of the world's greatest works of art, architecture, and gastronomy, Italy elates, inspires and moves like no other. One should not leave Italy without trying the Birth Place every one favorite "Pizza"

For many people, an Italy tour even once in their lifetime is nothing less than a dream come true. The excitement and anticipation are every bit worth it. Whether it’s floating down a gondola in Venice or gazing at the Colosseum, the reality lives up to the many dreams you may have had since you decided to visit Italy. In fact, some people might even consider a visit to Italy as the pinnacle of their tourist dreams.

Italy is, after all, the birthplace of the Roman empire and the renaissance and the many UNESCO World Heritage Sites here are proof of Italy’s vintage. But even if you’re not a historian or architecture buff, Italy tourism has much to offer. Food and wine, the very best actually, are yours for the taking but there are also scenic spots such as Lake Como or the Cinque Terre which act as a balm for your eyes and soul. Then, there’s the shopping that you can indulge in, especially in Milan and Florence with their luxury boutiques and top fashion labels streaming out of the shops.

When it comes to Italy tourism, people come here to experience the culture, see historical and archaeological sites, and look at the fashion and art scene. But at the same time, there are also Italy tours that take people to some of the natural beauty here such as its beaches or mountains.

Rome is known for its stunning architecture, with the Colleseum - the iconic amphitheater where history seems to stand still., Pantheon, and Trevi Fountain as the main attractions. It was the center of the Roman Empire that ruled the European Continent for several ages. And, you'll find the smallest country in the world in Rome.

Vatican City, a city-state surrounded by Rome, Italy, is the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church. It's home to the Pope and a trove of iconic art and architecture. Its Vatican Museums house ancient Roman sculptures such as the famed “Laocoön and His Sons” as well as Renaissance frescoes in the Raphael Rooms and the Sistine Chapel, famous for Michelangelo’s ceiling.

Pisa is a city in Italy's Tuscany region best known for its iconic Leaning Tower. Already tilting when it was completed in 1372, the 56m white-marble cylinder is the bell tower of the Romanesque, striped-marble cathedral that rises next to it in the Piazza dei Miracoli. Also in the piazza is the Baptistry, whose renowned acoustics are demonstrated by amateur singers daily, and the Caposanto Monumentale cemetery.

Florence, the capital of Italy’s Tuscany region, is home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture. One of its most iconic sights is the Duomo, a cathedral with a terracotta-tiled dome engineered by Brunelleschi and a bell tower by Giotto. The Galleria dell'Accademia displays Michelangelo’s “David” sculpture. The Uffizi Gallery exhibits Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus” and da Vinci’s “Annunciation.”

Venice, the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. It has no roads, just canals – including the Grand Canal thoroughfare – lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces. The central square, Piazza San Marco, contains St. Mark’s Basilica, which is tiled with Byzantine mosaics, and the Campanile bell tower offering views of the city’s red roofs.

Milan is particularly famous for fashion (you just have to visit the "quadrilateral della Moda" and galleria Vittorio Emanuele). Lots of international fashion brands were born in Milano (see Prada). Milan is also the economic power of Italy. Twice a year the Quadrilatero d'Oro fashion district buzzes when catwalks take over neoclassical palaces for the famous Milan Fashion Weeks

Naples, a city in southern Italy, sits on the Bay of Naples. Nearby is Mount Vesuvius, the still-active volcano that destroyed nearby Roman town Pompeii. Dating to the 2nd millennium B.C., Naples has centuries of important art and architecture. The city's cathedral, the Duomo di San Gennaro, is filled with frescoes. Other major landmarks include the lavish Royal Palace and Castel Nuovo, a 13th-century castle.

The city has many noted churches, including the ornate Gésu Nuovo and the Gothic Santa Chiara. Pio Monte della Misericordia church houses Caravaggio’s Baroque painting “The Seven Works of Mercy.” The National Archaeological Museum is renowned for its Roman art and antiquities. Via Toledo is an elegant shopping district bordering the Spanish Quarters neighborhood. The historic center is split in two by Naples’ most famous street: colorful, crowded Spaccanapoli. Renowned as the birthplace of pizza and spaghetti, Naples also offers a variety of seafood specialties

Amalfi is a town in a dramatic natural setting below steep cliffs on Italy’s southwest coast. Between the 9th and 11th centuries, it was the seat of a powerful maritime republic. The Arab-Norman Sant'Andrea cathedral at the heart of town, with its striped Byzantine facade, survives from this era. The Museo Arsenale Amalfi is a medieval shipyard-turned-exhibition space.

Lake Como, in Northern Italy’s Lombardy region, is an upscale resort area known for its dramatic scenery, set against the foothills of the Alps. The lake is shaped like an upside-down Y, with three slender branches that meet at the resort town of Bellagio. At the bottom of the southwest branch lies the city of Como, home to Renaissance architecture and a funicular that travels up to the mountain town of Brunate.

With its rich architectural delights, its splendor and scenic visuals along the coast, its delightful al fresco restaurants with the authentic pizza, the tiny sun-dappled villages, the espresso, the galleries, the limestone grottos, the volcanoes – Italy is indeed a vacationer’s paradise.
